project brief

St Marys is an outstanding primary school in Twickenham. The school needed an updated website to appeal to new parents, serve the information needs of existing parents, and provide statuary information for Ofsted. The design brief was that it should appear professional, clean and should have easy to use navigation and layouts.

The Challenge

and also give a unified feel for the school despite being split over three physical locations.

St Mary’s Primary School Twickenham has children from age 4 to 12 and as such presented a challenge to design something that included this range of ages at work and at play.

In addition, although the school is split over three physical sites, it operates as whole school in a very unified way and so the website needed to show this whilst also presenting information about the different sites.

the outcome

We worked with a local photographer who created a beautiful portfolio of images for us to use. They showed the children at work and at play.

Although the school is split over three sites, we designed the navigation so that the information is not split by site, instead we presented the content for the school as a whole, only splitting it up into year groups where absolutely necessary (ie curriculum). However,  we showed the contact information fo the three sites separably using Google Maps and hyper links to each phone number.

We trained staff members to update the website and we still work wit the school to support the website on a regular basis today.
